The Misty Hills Country Hotel, Conference Centre, and Spa is a stone-built hotel complex set in a lush indigenous garden that has an abundance of birdlife. The hotel is close to the artistic belt known as the Crocodile River Ramble. It overlooks the Kromdraai Valley, and is located about 30 minutes away from Johannesburg, and about 45 minutes from Pretoria. The closest airport is Lanseria (15 minutes away), and OR Tambo International Airport is about an hour's drive from the hotel.

The hotel has over 150 thatched rooms, decorated with colourful African fabrics and artwork, and handmade furniture. Each of the hotel rooms is equipped with a private bathroom, a well-lit work area, hairdryer, TV, direct dialling telephone, complimentary tea and coffee (and a mini bar on request). Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi access to the Internet throughout the hotel. The Carnivore restaurant, situated in the hotel grounds, serves a selection of succulent, charcoal-grilled game and domestic meats (crocodile, giraffe, kudu, and ostrich, for example), skewered onto Maasai swords and cooked to perfection over an open fire. You can eat as much as you like. Serving only stops when you put down your flag in surrender. Fish and vegetarian dishes are also available. The Summerhouse restaurant is a picturesque venue for elegant dining, with large windows that overlook the hotel's beautiful gardens. This restaurant is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Transport from O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg to Misty Hills:
Misty Hills outsources their transfers (from the airport to the hotel) to John Banda who can be contacted on bjbanda@worldonline.co.za or +27-82-723-4725. A one-way journey costs R490 (for either 1 or 2 people); additional passengers are charged a further R90 each.

Directions from O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg:
Take the R24 to Johannesburg. Keep in the left lane. A few kilometres after passing a large pedestrian bridge, you will get to the Gillooly's interchange, where you need to be careful to take the correct turning. Take the N3 North highway towards Pretoria. After a while, you will come to another large interchange - take the N1 South highway towards Roodepoort / Bloenfontein. Do not take the N1 North to Pretoria, or you will find yourself in Midrand. Once on the N1 South, you pass the turnoffs for Rivonia Road, William Nicol Drive, Malibongwe Drive, then Beyers Naude Drive.

Directions from Beyers Naude Drive:
Travelling on the N1 South from Malibongwe Drive, take the Beyers Naude offramp, and turn right (roughly north) towards Honeydew, i.e. cross over the highway you have just been on. Keep on Beyers Naude Drive which becomes the M5. After passing through several major intersections, the road narrows down to a single lane. You will pass the Garden World Nursery on the right and Oakfield Farm on the left. Just after the road widens, turn left into DRIFT BLVD / MULDERSDRIFT (R114). Misty Hills is about 800 metres down the road on the right.

Directions from Pretoria:
From Pretoria, take the N1 South to Johannesburg. Continue straight onto the N14 / R28 towards Krugersdorp (Mogale City). Pass R55 / R511 and Lanseria turnoffs. Take the next turnoff - M5 Swartkop / Randburg. Turn left, away from the highway. Take the second turn to your right into DRIFT BLVD / MULDERSDRIFT (R114). Misty Hills is about 800 metres down the road on the right.
